IE Partners With Patagonia to Bring Earth Sessions to Brooklyn During Climate Week

SEPTEMBER 14, 2022 United States – On September 23, Intersectional Environmentalist (IE), in partnership with The Eyes & Ears Agency, will launch the fifth event from a series of intimate community-driven environmental justice concerts, known as Earth Sessions. This event will be sponsored by Earthjustice and The Solutions Project, and put on in partnership with Patagonia and Future Earth. These events were born out of the desire to build community in real life while learning about climate justice, and create physical spaces that celebrate art as a movement for change.

The upcoming Earth Sessions show at Patagonia Brooklyn will feature an inspiring discussion with leaders of nonprofit organizations The Hood Hikers and Future Earth, as they discuss centering climate justice during Climate Week in NYC. There will also be an intimate performance by Gaia Music Collective, featuring a string quartet with Carolina Díaz Chan (viola), Tiffany Weiss (violin), Calvin Chan (cello), and Hajnal Pivnick (violin) performing music from Frank Ocean, Yebba, Olivia Rodrigo and more.

“We are so excited to partner with Patagonia, Earthjustice, and Future Earth to host Earth Sessions during Climate Week NYC, and center important conversations on environmental justice from leaders in our community,” said IE Director of Programming, Kiana Kazemi.

The previous four sold-out Earth Sessions events invited artist-activists including Xiuhtezcatl, Bedouine, and Charlie Burg, and spotlighted BIPOC-led nonprofit organizations including Harlem Grown and Good Life Garden. In it’s inaugural year, Earth Sessions connected with over 285 folks in real life and over 818K online so far, and built long-lasting relationship with our partners and collaborators, Feels Like Floating, Audubon Center at Debs Park, and Patagonia.

IE and The Eyes & Ears Agency extend a massive thank you to Earthjustice, The Solutions Project, Patagonia, and Future Earth for supporting IE’s programmatic vision and helping bring Earth Sessions to life.
