Diandra Marizet Esparza
Cofounder + Director of Impact
Diandra Marizet Esparza (She/Her) is a writer, poet, and cultural strategist who brings a media-forward, impact-driven approach to environmental justice rooted in storytelling, equity, and collective care. As the co-founder and founding Executive Director of Intersectional Environmentalist (IE), Diandra led the organizational transformation of a viral call to action into a globally recognized nonprofit that has become a cornerstone of the modern climate justice movement.
Drawing on her background in sustainable fashion, trend analytics, and organizational strategy, she built the foundational infrastructure that propelled IE’s long-term vision as a leader in climate communications and environmental media. Under her leadership, IE raised over $2 million in mission-aligned funding, expanded its digital presence to reach millions of people annually since 2020, and amplified the voices of thousands of artists, educators, and grassroots leaders through community-driven art, storytelling, and educational media programs that centers culture as key to sustainable futures.
Diandra now serves as the Director of Impact, where she continues to expand this vision across IE’s media channels and long-term strategy.
From internal development to storytelling strategy, Diandra’s work explores how culture expresses our relationship to land, and how honoring that relationship can help us reimagine and protect the future of both people and planet.
