Sarah Shanley Hope is Senior Vice President of Strategy at UltraViolet, a feminist digital organizing hub, and Founder of the Good Life Project, an experimental initiative that connects subcultures where neighbor-to-neighbor care is practiced in unexpected places (like the Buffalo Bills fandom) with organizations building community resilience and collective power.
Sarah is a narrative strategist and social entrepreneur who spent 12 years at The Solutions Project — seven as founding Executive Director, then five leading narrative strategy through a generative leadership transition. Under her leadership, The Solutions Project grew from a $250,000 concept into a $100M+ funding vehicle, deploying grants to 300 grassroots organizations that passed dozens of climate and equity policies, unlocked billions in public funds, and improved the lives of more than 100 million people through community climate solutions. She drove a 7-fold increase in equitable clean energy media coverage through field-wide media strategies and partnerships with TIME, TED, celebrities, and grassroots climate justice organizers, earning the organization a Fast Company Most Innovative Company designation.
Sarah also sits on the boards of Kairos Fellowship, Just Solutions Collective, and the Oakland Parks Department's Studio One art center. She is from Buffalo, NY, and lives in Oakland, CA with her husband, daughters, dogs, and lizard.
