Kiana Kazemi

Co-Founder + Board Member

Kiana Kazemi (She/her) is a digital strategist bridging the gap between marketing, technology, and social impact. She is the founder and CEO of Carousel, an agency dedicated to empowering brands to scale and connect deeply with their audiences. With a background in data science and digital communications, she combines deep insights, authentic storytelling, and strategic communications to craft engaging campaigns that resonate with communities and drive impact.

While getting her undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley, Kiana also co-founded Intersectional Environmentalist. As the Director of Programming, she grew the organization’s community, reaching millions of people monthly and consulted Fortune 500 companies and organizations on their digital strategies, including the US Environmental Protection Agency, Pinterest, Netflix, REI, and KEEN.

In 2023 she was recognized on the Forbes 30 under 30 list for her contributions to social impact. Her work has been featured in Vogue, Forbes, ELLE Magazine, Outside Magazine, and CNBC, and she has spoken at Climate Week NYC, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Techarena, and more.

She currently serves as a founding board member of Intersectional Environmentalist, is a faculty member at UC Berkeley’s PH101 course, a California Academy of Sciences Creator for Nature fellow, and is a founding member of Earth Sessions.

Diandra Marizet Esparza

Diandra Marizet Esparza is an environmental justice advocate, community cultivator, operational strategist and writer whose work resides where culture meets environmentalism to support equitable systems for people + planet. She is the Executive Director of Intersectional Environmentalist, and contributing writer to “The Intersectional Environmentalist: How to Dismantle Systems of Oppression to Protect People + Planet”.
